2009 NBA Playoffs Started with a BangApril 22, 2009 by Marc Jerbs

The 2009 NBA Playoffs is off to a rousing start with 16 teams all jockeying for the coveted Larry O'Brien trophy. In the playoffs, you win or go home empty-handed.

In the Eastern Conference, top seed and NBA best record holder Cleveland Cavaliers are running amuck against the eight seeded Detroit Pistons. The Cavaliers are in cruise control with MVP candidate Lebron James directing his team. All is not lost for the Pistons as Games 3 and 4 shifts to their home court with their back against the wall on a 2-0 series deficit.

At the Western Conference, defending conference champion and top seed Los Angeles Lakers are up against the unpredictable Utah Jazz. Last season's MVP Kobe Bryant will again anchor the Lakers towards their march to the NBA Finals for the second straight season.

All the betting odds point to the Cavaliers and Lakers will meet in the 2009 NBA Finals.
