2010 Australian Open Women's Semifinals:Justine Henin vs. Jie ZhengJanuary 27, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

After the first 10 days of tennis action, the comeback attempt of Justine Henin still draw a lot of noise and followers especially from Australia's rabid fans. Former world No. 1 Justine Henin decided to make a comeback this year. She was given a wild card entry at the Australian Open and she has been wrecking havoc from the start.

It is quite evident that Justine Henin still has her tennis groove. She has beaten Kirsten Flipkens, Elena Dementieva, Alisa Kleybanova, Yanina Wickmayer and Nadia Petrova. These are all quality tennis players that could have cost her a lot in her comeback bid. But with her court savvy and big heart, she made it to the semifinals. I can say that Justine Henin is on the right track to resurrect her career.

Henin's semifinal opponent, Jie Zheng, is also etching her name in the Australian Open history book. She's the first Chinese woman to qualify for the Australian Open singles semi-final after defeating Maria Kirilenko. Eventually, compatriot Na Li win over Venus Williams has put two Chinese women in the semifinals.

I believe Justin Henin should be the favorite to beat Jie Zheng. She may have not played enough tennis in the last 20 months. But she has the heart of a champion, a seasoned veteran and unbreakable will. While Jie Zheng is still young, a developing talent but could still give Justine Henin a tough game. In may be the other way around, just check the latest semifinal odds between Justine Henin and Jie Zheng.
