2010 Formula 1 Racing:Singapore Grand PrixSeptember 21, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

On Sunday, the Formula One season shifts back to Asian circuit for the Singapore Grand Prix. The 61-lap night race will be held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The circuit has a length of 5.073km per lap; the winning driver will accumulate a total race distance of 309.316km. Kimi Raikonnen holds the fastest lap record with a time of 1:45.599 which he established in 2008.

Two weeks ago, Team Ferrari earned a 1-3 finish in their home racetrack at the Italian Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso earned his 3rd win of the season and jumped into 3rd place in the driver's standing. With still 5 races left in the season, Alonso still has a chance to challenge Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton for the title. But it all depends on how his Ferrari car will fare until the end of the season.

In the Constructor's standings, RBR-Renault holds a slim 3-point lead over McLaren-Mercedes. Team Ferrari sits at 3rd place with 290 points and Mercedes GP at 4th with 158 points.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed RBR-Renualt's Sebastien Vettel as the favorite to win the Singapore Grand Prix. However, Mark Webber, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso will be his primary challengers on Sunday night.
