2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race #2:Auto Club 500February 17, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

Last February 14, the Daytona 500 ushered the NASCAR Sprint Cup season. The race was delayed a bit due to potholes that surfaced on the Daytona track. It was just a minor stumbling block as the drivers still delivered a thrilling and exciting race for their racing fans. Jamie McMurray emerged as the winner while Dale Earnhardt Jr., came in at close second place.

This Sunday, the NASCAR Sprint Cup series moves to Fontana, California for the Auto Club 500 at the Auto Club Speedway. This is just the second race of the season but you can feel the urgency of each racing teams to hold their position inside the Top 10 of the standings. Each team knows that every win counts once the standings are trimmed for the Chase for the Sprint Cup series which will be held in the second half of the racing season.

Matt Kenseth is the defending Auto Club 500 winner, his team had a solid performance after an 8th place finish in last week's Daytona 500. His team has the capability to let Matt Kenseth win again on this track after conquering it last season. It will be another exciting and explosive race this Sunday.

However, the sportsbook handicappers have inked Jimmie Johnson as the favorite to dethrone Matt Kenseth at the Auto Club 500. Likewise, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch and Mark Martin are considered as a dark horse in this race.
