2011-2012 College Basketball:Duke Blue Devils vs.
Ohio State BuckeyesNovember 29, 2011 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, 2nd-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes meets 3rd-ranked Duke Blue Devils for an ACC - Big Ten college basketball match. This highly anticipated match between two unbeaten teams will take place at Value City Arena in Columbus, OH. Game time is set at 9:30PM ET.

Duke basketball coach Mike Kryzewski knew since 2004 that the basketball program of Ohio State under Coach Thad Matta will become a powerhouse in college basketball. The Buckeyes have moved on from the penalties imposed by the NCAA after their well-documented rules and recruiting violations.

Under coach Thad Matta, Ohio State reached the 2007 national title game; attained a 34-3 record last season and reached the Sweet 16 for a two consecutive years. This year, the Buckeyes are led by 2011 national freshman of the year Jared Sullinger, William Buford and Aaron Craft. These three players are the leaders of a young Ohio State team.

The Duke Blue Devils started the season with 7 straight wins. They have beaten No. 15 Michigan and No. 14 Kansas to earn their 5th Maui Invitational last week. Coach Mike Kryzewski still insists that his team could still improve their offense and defense but with the way they played in their first 7 games it is hard to notice any imperfections.

The Blue Devils have 5 players averaging in double digits. They spread their scoring duties to Seth Curry, Ryan Kelly, Austin Rivers, Mason Plumlee and Andre Dawkins. Duke's offense is hard to predict with these 5 players playing cohesively as a unit.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Ohio State Buckeyes as a 5.5-point favorite to beat the Duke Blue Devils on Tuesday night.
