MLB American League Matchup:LA Angels vs. NY YankeesAugust 09, 2011 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the NY Yankees hosts the LA Angels in a three-game homestand at the Yankee Stadium. The 1st game is set at 7:05PM ET.

The Yankees are coming off a tough series loss against the Red Sox. Instead of claiming the No. 1 spot in the AL East, the series loss dropped them in 2nd place. They were on an 8-game winning streak before suffering a back-to-back loss against the Red Sox.

Playing at the comforts of home will surely fire up their bellies and bounce back. The Yankees are playing almost a month of impeccable baseball winning series after series. The loss against the Red Sox may be a temporary stumbling block. But expect the Yanks to bounce back from their humbling loss.

The LA Angels will send Dan Haren against AJ Burnett tomorrow. Haren will be making his first start at the new Yankee Stadium after going 3-0 with 3.15 ERA at the old stadium. He's 6-1 with 2.54 ERA in his last nine starts.

The Angels are upbeat that Dan Haren could limit the offensive power of the Yankees. The Yankees are 2nd in the league with 603 runs scored while the Angels have the 2nd fewest runs with 441.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed AJ Burnett and the NY Yankees to win against the LA Angels on Tuesday night. However, if AJ Burnett does not have his A-game on the mound then the LA Angels have a chance to win the game.
