NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals:Boston Celtics vs. Miami HeatMay 03, 2011 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the Boston Celtics plays the Miami Heat in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, FL. Miami leads the series 1-0 and game time is set at 7PM ET.

The Boston Celtics hopes to rebound from a dismal showing in their Game 1 loss against the Miami Heat. It was a very physical wherein technical fouls were given and a lot of players sent crashing on the floor. But it was the veteran and championship caliber Celtics that let their emotions run high which clearly affected their game.

Veteran Paul Pierce should have known well to walk away from tough fouls and non-call penalties. Yet, he did not bother to restrain himself and was subsequently given two technical fouls and was ejected in the game. To tie the series and snatch the homecourt advantage away from the Heat, the Celtics must display their veteran poise, rock solid defense and precise offensive plays in Game 2.

The Miami Heat showed a lot of composure and heart during Game 1. Dwayne Wade and Lebron James led the way while Chris Bosh took care of the rebounding chores as well as disrupting Garnett's night.

The Heat's bench players rose also contributed led by James Jones 5 for 7 beyond the arc, Joel Anthony's inside defense as well as the hustle plays of Mario Chalmers and Mike Bibby. To secure a 2-0 series lead, the Big Three must lead again and have their role players contribute timely offense and hard defense on Tuesday night.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Miami Heat as a 5-point favorite to beat the Boston Celtics. Expect Game 2 to be more physical, lots of one-on-one confrontation and player taunts than Game 1.
