2011 NFL Season Kick Off Game:New Orleans Saints vs.
Green Bay PackersSeptember 06, 2011 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the Green Bay Packers hosts the New Orleans Saints for the opening game of 93rd NFL Season at Lambeau Field. This game will be a matchup of the last two Super Bowl winners and possibly a preview of this season's NFC title game.

Current Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers will begin their season in front of their loyal Packers' fan. This would be the 1st in franchise history that Green Bay kicked off a season on a weekday.

The Packers are 5-0 all-time in nationally televised season openers.

The New Orleans Saints are the team from whom the Packers inherited the Lombardi Trophy. The Saints are on a mission to it back at the Super Bowl XLVI. The team have retooled their roster and also added Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Green Bay Packers as a 4-point favorite to beat the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night.

This opening kick off game will feature two teams that have high-powered offense and hard tackling defense. But only one would emerge victorious to earn its 1st win of the season.
