2011 PGA TOUR:WGC - Cadillac ChampionshipMarch 09, 2009 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the TPC Blue Monster at Doral will host the WGC - Cadillac Championship. This beautiful golf course is embedded within the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Doral, FL. The 18th hole Par 72 course has been home of the Cadillac Championship since 1962.

Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and reigning US Open champion Graeme McDowell were paired for the first two rounds of the Cadillac Championship. Both Woods and Mickelson were rarely paired in a golf event but this time the PGA Tour decided to group marquee players instead of the usual random pairing of group.

The rest of the top 21 players who are participating on this event were grouped according to the rankings.

World No. 1 Martin Kaymer will be joined by No. 2 Lee Westwood and No. 3 Luke Donald. McDowell, Woods and Mickelson were group together because they currently hold the 4th to 6th spot in the world rankings.

Tiger Woods is still winless in the PGA Tour since 2010, although he has shown major progress over his last few events this season. He may not be the same Tiger as before but he won the Cadillac Championship six times in his career. But if he's poised for a breakout win, the Cadillac Championship may be within his grasp.

The golf handicappers have installed Tiger Woods as the favorite to win the WGC - Cadillac Championship. However, Graeme McDowell is at close second and may possibly steal the win away from Tiger Woods.
