2013 NBA Season:Miami Heat vs. Atlanta HawksMarch 12, 2012 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the red hot Miami Heat hosts the Atlanta Hawks for an Eastern Conference match up at AmericanAirlines Arena. Tip-off is set at 7:30PM ET.

The defending champion Miami Heat hopes to extend their 18-game winning streak as they face the free falling Atlanta Hawks at home. Miami is coming off a superb win over Indiana last Sunday. They were the first to earn a playoff spot with 20-plus games to spare in their schedule.

Most of the Heat players are not putting premium on their winning streak. Each of them would want to improve every game since their main goal is to repeat as champions. With the way they are playing, it seems that the Miami Heat is ready to defend their championship title with any team in the East and Western Conference.

The Atlanta Hawks have lost five of their last six games for the month of March. These losses have dropped them for a tie in 6th place in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. There recent setback was a 93-80 home loss to Brooklyn.

Atlanta must regroup to have a chance to upset the Miami Heat. Miami has beaten Atlanta six straight times and holds a 3-0 record against them this season.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Miami Heat as a 10-point favorite to beat the struggling Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
