2014 MLB Season:Houston Astros at NY YankeesAugust 19, 2014 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the NY Yankees will host the Houston Astros in a three-game series at the Yankee Stadium. The first pitch will commence at 7:05PM ET.

New York ended their five-game with two wins against Tampa Bay and ended their five game road trip with a 2-3 record. Manager Joe Girardi hopes that their last two wins will carryover when they return home in their next scheduled games.

The Yankees must pile a string of victories at home as they chase three other teams in the American League for a wild card berth. It is a daunting task to catch up with Oakland, Detroit and Seattle in the wild card race.

With a 52-73 record, the Houston Astros will not give the Yankees the win that they cherish. Astros' Jose Altuve and Chris Carter have increased their offensive production. Houston has an average of 4.6 runs since the All-Star break.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the NY Yankees as a 1.5-point favorite to win against the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
