2017 MLB Season: Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta BravesSeptember 19, 2017 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves will host a three-game series against the Washington Nationals at SunTrust Park in Cumberland, GA. Game time for the first game is set 7:35PM ET.

Braves' rookie pitcher Luiz Gohara will have another pitching match-up with Nationals' Max Scherzer. In their first match-up, Luiz Gohara outdueled Max Scherzer to lead Atlanta to an 8-2 victory. Atlanta is already out for playoff contention but this game would be another stepping stone for the rookie pitcher as he is contention to join Atlanta's rotation on a full-time basis on 2018.

The Washington Nationals has clinched the NL East title for the 4th time in six years. In last week's loss against Atlanta, Max Scherzer was dealt his worst defeat of the season after giving up a season-high 7 runs and 7 walks in six innings. He will have an opportunity to erase this humiliation and hopes to improve his chances as a contender for the Cy Young award.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Washington Nationals as the favorites to beat the Atlanta Braves in the first game of the three-game series on Tuesday night.
