PGA TOUR: 2011 The MastersApril 06, 2011 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the Augusta National Golf Club will host the first PGA Tour major tournament of the year, The Masters in Augusta, GA. The par-72 7,435 yards golf course will feature all the great golfers from around the globe vying for the coveted "green jacket".

Defending 2010 champion Phil Mickelson will return to defend his title against the top players in the world rankings. The top world ranking is too crowded at the top wherein 6 of the 7 top players have a chance to at the No. 1 spot.

If current No. 1 Martin Kaymer end up as the Masters' winner, he'll solidify his top ranking. However, Lee Westwood, Phil Mickelson, Luke Donald, Graeme McDowell and current No. 7 Tiger Woods have a shot to emerge as the new No.1 player in the world if they win this weekend.

Thursday's tee times would start at 7:45 AM ET with legendary Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus teeing up to start the 2011 Masters. World No. 1 Martin is paired with Lee Westwood and Matt Kuchar with tee time of 10:19 AM ET. Tiger Woods is grouped with Graeme McDowell and Robert Allenby which would start at 10:41 AM ET.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed defending champion Phil Mickelson as the favorite to repeat in this year's Masters tournament. Tiger Woods who is still searching for his 1st win in the PGA Tour since last year is the 2nd favorite to win the Masters.
