Roger Federer on target for
his 15th Grand Slam titleJune 24, 2009 by Marc Jerbs

Roger Federer's sole motivation in this year's Wimbledon is to reach the finals and emphatically get his 15th Grand Slam title and etch his name as the greatest tennis player in the world. He is currently tied with Peter Sampras and one more win will vault him on top of the former tennis great.

With Rafael Nadal sitting out the tournament with knee tendinitis, most sports scribe believes that Federer will have an easy outing at the Wimbledon. Believe it or not, Federer is no longer untouchable, Nadal exposed to the world his vulnerabilities and every tennis player may use them against Federer.

There are still legitimate high level opponents available to derail Federer's bid in search for his 15th Grand Slam title. Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davydenko and Andy Roddick are among the top players that can beat Federer in any round at Wimbledon.

If Roger Federer is in peak form then nobody could beat him on his favorite surface. He had won 5 Wimbledon titles already and he's gunning for his sixth. But if he plays lackadaisical and slow with his feet, he'll be beaten convincingly.
