The British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood started the 1st round with a lot fireworks last Wednesday.

The tournament is being played at the Close House Golf Club in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

Twenty-nine year old Scottish David Law held a one shot lead after the first round.

He shot 7-under par 64 for a bogey-free round.

Oliver Fisher, Garrick Porteous and Renato Paratore shared second with 6-uner par 65.

All players who were slotted to play in the afternoon took advantage of the good playing conditions that proved favorable to a low score.

Round two commences on Thursday morning with the group of David Law, Thomas Bjorn and Wilson Oliver starting the day at 8:20am BST.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Renato Paratore as the player to beat on Saturday's last round of the British Masters.
