Available Bets on the English Premier League

There are generally three ways to bet on the English Premier League, these are:

  • Outright English Premier League Winner - a bet on which club will win the championship.

  • English Premier League Matchup - a bet on the winner of individual English Premier League matches (e.g. bet on the winner of the match between Norwich and Arsenal or Man City and New Castle).

  • English Premier League Specials - a bet made on the outcome of certain aspects of a particular Premier League match, but which is not a typical part of the in-game betting. Specials in Premier League matches may include betting on which club or player will score the first goal, how many total goals a particular player will score, how many yellow cards will be given in the match, etc.

In a bet on the outright Premier League winner, sports betting sites list the competing clubs with their respective odds, just like the following:

English Premier League Outright Winner
Manchester City 10/11
Manchester United 7/4
Chelsea 7/1
Arsenal 33/1
Tottenham Hotspur 40/1
Liverpool 50/1
Newcastle United 250/1

You just have to bet on which club you think has the best chance of winning the Premier League championship.

Let's say you picked Manchester City and placed a €20.00 bet. At odds of 10/11, if Manchester City wins the championship, your €20.00 bet will win €18.18 for a total return of €38.18 (your original bet plus your winnings).

Looking at the bottom of the list, if you bet €20.00 on Newcastle United, and Newcastle United wins the championsip, at odds of 250/1, you'll get €5,020.00 (€20.00 original bet plus €5,000.00 winnings).

Meanwhile, in a Premier League matchup bet, you just have to pick the winner of a particular Premier League match.

Sports betting sites usually list the matchup of the competing clubs and their corresponding odds plus the odds for the "Draw", like the following:

Home Draw Away
Norwich City v Arsenal 4/1 13/5 4/6
Everton v Wolverhampton Wanderers 4/7 5/2 11/2
Manchester City v Newcastle United 1/4 9/2 10/1

Let's say you picked Norwich City to win over Arsenal and placed a €10.00 bet. At odds of 4/1, if Norwich City wins the match, your €10.00 bet will win €40.00 for a total return of €50.00.

In the second matchup, let's say you picked the Wolverhampton Wanderers to defeat Everton and placed a €20.00 bet. At odds of 11/2, if the Wolverhampton Wanderers wins the match, your €20.00 bet will win €110.00 for a total return of €130.00.

In the Manchester City v Newcastle United matchup, let's say you picked the "Draw" and placed a €10.00. At odds of 9/2, if the match is declared a draw (or the match ended in a tie), your €10.00 bet will win €45.00 for a total return of €55.00.

Meanwhile, Premier League Specials (also called Propositions or Prop Bets) are offers which include betting on which player will score the first goal, how many goals a particular player will score, how many yellow cards will be given in the match, how many goals will be scored in the match, etc.
